Assessment 9 Screengrabs
This is a screen shot taken from the 2010 remake of the horror classic a nightmare on elm street. As shown here one of the main scenes is an abandoned warehouse as similar with ours we have used. We used this film as inspiration for locations.
As shown from here is a screen shot from the original horror classic The exorcist. What is shown here is the lighting that is used with the little girl possessed by the devil and this is something we had tried to incorporate within out footage when the cult leader is within our female characters bedroom.
The Wicker man remake screen shot is shown above and this is were our inspiration for our cult came from. As shown from this shot you can see the cult carrying the victim ready for the sacrifice as within our video.

Assessment 8
Within our opening sequence we will only be having 3 different scenes.
The first scene that will be shown will be of our female character within her bedroom firstly sat upon the bed making a phone call discussing the dreams and headaches she keeps having.
From here the audience is taking to another scene that is a quiet street. It Is this scene where our female character is kidnapped and placed into the boot of the car which drives off to our final scene.
The final scene is within an abandoned factory outside of the rural area. This factory is the scene showing the cults place of worship. The female character will be taken inside the factor from outside and brought in by members of the cult until the cult leaders points them into where he wants her.
The audience is then taken back to the female characters bedroom where she awakes from her dream.

Assessment 6
Matthew Pounder - The leader of the cult. He wears a black robe with a hood on so it covers his face. This makes his identity unknown to the victim and the viewers. Every-time he appears on camera the shot is blurred to mask his identity even further and to create a sense of hysteria.
Catherine Bacon - The victim in the video. Shes play the typical stereotypical woman in horror movies. She also fits in with the blonde femme fatal. Through-out the video she is unaware of why she is getting targeted and who the people are.
Jake Boarder, Lee Porritt and Craig Harman - Are members of the cult. They wear all black to match the leader with their hood up to try and hide some of their identity. There is a clear divide between the leader and the members.
Props:
Car
Candles
Cloak
Chalk
Dark Colour clothing
Costume for the dream- when the victim had a dream the cult members were all wearing black and the female was wear a dress.
Location
We filmed most of the video at a abandoned warehouse in Greatham. This was the scene for the the final location of the victim and were the summoning happened. Due to it being abandoned and run down it was a perfect place for something like this to happen. This created great mise en scene for us. We filmed the kidnapping at a place in South fens this was due to a isolated area for easy filming and better mise en scene. We filmed the victim in their bedroom because it matches the mise en scene of a typical female with a bedroom full of posters of male movie stars and picture of friends. We used this because most teenage girls find safety within their room and we wanted to create a sense of true fear.

Assessment 5
The Femme fatal, played by Catherine Bacon, is having a nightmare linked with a cult in an abandoned warehouse with the devils summoning as the key focus. The Femme Fatal is the sacrifice as provided by the minions of what appear to be a cult leader. This cult is vastly growing as many people are going missing the ring leader appears with enigmas appearing throughout the entire plot using the leader in a cloak as a mystery with the warehouse and the ritual.
Opening Sequences
Our opening sequence will start with our female character dreaming about the current plot line in which this devil style cult is after her after her several hallucinations about them and their place or worship. This starts with the female character in her bedroom calling a friend telling her about these dreams and hallucinations. From here flashbacks are shown of the headache flashbacks the female character is receiving followed by a flashback of the dream she just had in which she is kidnapped forcing her eventually to wake up in a panic.
Audience
For our audience we are trying to aim for a an age group of 15-25 and this is due to the plot we are creating. We are using as an original plot line classic horror stereo types from the 1960's era for the film to create a much greater sense of fear. however we are also incorporating flashbacks and dreams that are seen from the 80's onwards within horror to also immerse the audience into a false sense of fear when they next dream. With the primary audience being 15-25 for horror we have decided to not challenge this to ensure popularity and keep with many appealing teen trends such as the many posters that are present within our female characters room in which many teen girls would relate to.
Creative Techniques
From our previous AS media work we had clearly been shown that we did not incorporate a wide variety of shot or much movement from the camera so we have planned this time to ensure that these are met. With our camera work we have developed and know now from any shot that we are filming we should also have multiple shot angles to ensure the audience can see a wide variety of camera movements. With this we are also ensuring that there will be a wider variety of shots from many different angles so that the audience is not bored of the same single shot being shown for too long. Previously we used iMovie to create a project but to ensure that we have a much more variety of shots we will be using Final Cut HD to allow for much more advanced editing for a much more advanced project.

Assessment 3 Part 2
When the horror genre started we start to see the development of the ideas of monsters and the reason this horrified people is the reason of what if and this is main idea of the horror genre to actually make people scared outside the theatre depending upon the time period. This has become more and more developed as the genre has progressed. However within the 1950’s we start to see a popular development of aliens and alien life becoming a part of the horror genre this is due to the time period and the theories people started having about life on other planets. During the 60’s we start to see within the world an era of change and rebellion and this is also reflected in the horror genre with the addition of serial killers and even the start of the zombie genre as of the changed within the world some film makers would say it could change the world as shown in their films. During the 70’s it was the youth that was targeted within the horror genre to truly frighten people with the thought that their children could change and become possessed if they rebelled such as “The Omen” and “The Exorcist”. During the 80’s and 90’s we start to see the development of more physiological horrors and more serial killers with serial killers not becoming a part of life, as within the world many serial killers existed. Within the 21st century we start to see many old genre’s coming back but also with the idea of isolation within people as of mishaps within the world such as a biological weapon that could create mutants or zombie’s as the fear of this time period was the world destroying itself.
Assessment 3
Our opening sequence will be mainly aimed at teenagers from an audience of above the age of 15 and although we wish to aim to a 14 + audience our aim would not be suitable for those at the age of below 15 as according to the BBFC’s regulations but the sequence will be able to obtain a 15 rating as of the following reasons.
Our footage will have no discriminating language or behaviour what so ever and is suitable in this area for a 15 + age group.
Drugs will not be in our footage and no reference will be present throughout our filming and planning stages.
Horror will be a main part to our film with it being in that particular genre. As the horror will not be sadistic or sexualised the film will be suitable for an under 18 audience. Our focus on the horror side will be to have the story as a mystery and slowly reveal details as it goes on.
Imitable behaviour will not be something that could be possible as the full sequence will be completely fictional and nothing can be repeated within real life.
Language may be present within the sequence but the language will be justified by context and no strong terms or repeated language will be used as it would be unacceptable for an under 18 audience.
Sexual activity and nudity will not be present within our footage as it had no relevance to what we are shooting and planning and will therefore be suitable for an under 18 audience.
The theme of the film will be a traditional cult horror style in which will use the traditional basis of horror with cults to create a fear of this happening to the audience.
Some brief violent shots will be shown but no strong gore or violent attacks will be shown and those shots that are shown will not be fully detailed in any shape or form.
Overall our film will be suitable for an under 18 audience and will not be too gruesome for 15 + teenagers. Our main focus of age group will be those ages 15 - 30 due to the traditional context of horror which will create a mass interest for a younger teenage audience (the age group which typically enjoy this genre more than older age groups) however due to the context of traditional horror the film will also target a slightly older age group.
Assessment 2
I do not own this content and am purely using this short clip for educational uses only all content is hearby property of 21st Century Fox
Mirrors starts with the regency logo showing and with it being a faded blue it seems slightly mysterious and creepy especially when while this shows you can hear a man running as a sound bridge then shows him running. You then see a man running which adds suspense to the movie. Then when he stops at the gate it’s used a medium close up and tracking shot to highlight his emotion and fear in his face. The film then jump to a train moving past and the man running again. With the location now fully shown the audience will know something is about to happen with it being a quiet isolated dark location. Again when the man is running it uses a close up to highlight his emotions in his face and this become apparent to be fear when the man looks up to see a shiny surface above him, meaning to be some reference to the film title, Mirrors. After breaking into the locker room the lights start to flicker off and on, giving a creepy atmosphere for the audience who will expect something to happen in this scene, this is promised with the slow creek of the lockers opening to reveal mirrors. The noise of this squeak creates a huge amount of tension for the audience and the character himself. As the man slowly walks towards the biggest mirror in front of him earey music plays in the background creating more tension for the audience and the lights flicker on and off. An extreme close up is used to make the man’s face cover the mirror and to highlight his complete fear over this mirror cracking in front of him and in seeing this gives the audience a huge sense of dread. After the mirror breaks some silence is present for a second creating much tension for both the character and the audience. So far the opening has built up dread within the audience. When the man looks in the mirrors and bends down to pick up the glass the man is shown in the mirror as still standing with a very grim face, this is a very creepy and for some people disturbing scene. A close up of the piece of broken mirror gives the audience an idea of what is about to happen as the mirrored image slits his throat causing the real life’s man’s throat to cut open creating a very bloody end for this character. The credits then begin to play with mirrored effects on them with a creepy tune playing in the background revealing mirrored images of a major town in the background giving the audience a hint about what this movie is about. The opening sequence of this film reveals some horrific scenes and some rather creepy ones that build up suspense within the audience creating the opening for a very good horror movie.
